LENO plate heat exchanger is a type of heat exchanger that uses metal plates to transfer heat between two fluids. The working process of a plate heat exchanger can be summarized in the following steps: The two fluids, called the hot fluid and the cold fluid, flow into the heat exchanger through separate ports. The hot fluid flows through the channels formed by the corrugated plates,
while the cold fluid flows through the channels formed by the flat plates. As the fluids flow past each other, heat is transferred from the hot fluid to the cold fluid through the thin metal plates. The corrugations in the plates create turbulence in the flow, which enhances heat transfer. The fluids then exit the heat exchanger through separate ports, with the cold fluid now heated and the hot fluid cooled.
The flow of the fluids can be arranged in different ways depending on the desired heat transfer characteristics. For example, in a parallel flow arrangement, the hot and cold fluids flow in the same direction, while in a counterflow arrangement, they flow in opposite directions. The plates in a plate heat exchanger can also be designed with different surface patterns to optimize heat transfer efficiency for different fluids and operating conditions.
